The Coercive Style. The outstanding performance and self-guidance as the imitation object of the members of the team. If this leadership style could be condensed into a sentence, it will be “do as I told you, immediately, no question!” . It may be function well when the team members are skilled and mobilized. While in real life experience, I think a good leadership is the mix of six style. And there are five points I want to mention to be a good leader in my eye.
I have been participated in a very important project, I have no experience with any of this project. For some reason, the previous boss are not able to continue to in charge of the project. And we are assigned a new boss, while the new boss has no experience of the project, at first we all have doubts about him. While under his leadership, as last we successfully finished the project and all recognize him as a good leader. The first reason is respect. Many technician in our team is more senior and older than he is, when he communicate with them, he always being very polite and patience, consult with them on important issues. While when he communicate young employee with me, he also put respect in the firs place, giving guidance and providing help whenever we need. 2. Obtain commitments from team members. Since he is so responsible, whenever there is a problem, he never blame it on team members but claim it is his own fault and needs the team members help with it. All of the team members trust him so much and like to make commitment for the team and the project. 3. Trust. Trust in human nature, trust the members of their commitment. He always raised the question in the most modest way and never question the attitude and commitment of the team member 4. be in service to others, as the manager of the team, he never enjoy commanding others, his aim is to deliver the work. Being helpful when other need it. Find resources for the team member. 5. Sharing. He has always been very generous, pay the meal or even our taxi fees out of his own pocket. He split the whole project bonus with the whole team. Also, he apply for the awards for the team member who contribute major contributions for the project. Based on these 5 points, we all believe he is a brilliant leadership and make things going so smoothly and effectively in the company.
